Penguins Redevelopment Conventional Oil Field, UK

Penguins Redevelopment is a conventional oil development located in shallow water in the UK and is operated by Shell U.K. Discovered in 1974, Penguins Redevelopment lies in block 211/13a PENGUIN EAST AREA and 211/13a PENGUIN WEST AREA, with water depth of around 1,005 feet.

The project is currently in construction stage and is expected to start commercial production in 2023. Final investment decision (FID) of the project was approved in 2018. The development cost is expected to be $1,000 m. The Penguins Redevelopment conventional oil development will involve the drilling of approximately eight wells and includes FPSO, subsea manifold, and subsea trees.

The field is owned by Neo Energy Group and Shell.

Production from Penguins Redevelopment

Production from the Penguins Redevelopment conventional oil development project is expected to begin in 2023 and is forecast to peak in 2024, to approximately 35,500 bpd of crude oil and condensate and 53 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, the production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2038.

Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 86.95 Mmboe, comprised of 69.56 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 104.33 bcf of natural gas reserves.
