Pennsylvania witnessed an increase of 0.42% in total oil and gas production to 33,90,774.76 boe/d in June 2020 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production grew 4.12% in June 2020 from 32,56,564.32 boe/d in June 2019. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2020 increased by 5.98% from the same period in 2019.

In June 2020, oil production declined 0.12% to 2,604.46 bd as against the previous month, while gas production up by 0.47% to 19,583.6 mmcf/d.

On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 19.76% in 2020 when compared with the same period in 2019, while gas production rose by 6.06%. Out of the total oil and gas production in June 2020, oil held a 0.08% share, while gas had a 99.58% share.


In Pennsylvania, EQT emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 7,32,516.4 boe/d in June 2020, an increase of 3.73% from the previous month. The company held a 0.43% share in oil production and 21.69% share in gas production in June 2020.

On a YTD basis, the company registered an 11.34% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2019.



Compared with other counties in Pennsylvania, Susquehanna county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 22.82% share in June 2020. The county witnessed a 0.13% increase in production to 7,73,845.2 boe/d in June 2020 when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, Susquehanna registered a decline of 1.32% in total production from the same period in 2019.
