Platong is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water in Thailand and is operated by Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production . The field is located in block B11 and B10, with water depth of 233 feet.

Production from Platong

The Platong conventional gas field recovered 57.23% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2019. The peak production was approximately 10.62 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 167 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2052. The field currently accounts for approximately 5% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 111.5 Mmboe, comprised of 13.77 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 586.34 bcf of natural gas reserves. Platong conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.04% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
