Polok Conventional Oil Field, Mexico

Polok is a conventional oil development located in deepwater in Mexico and is operated by Repsol Exploracion Mexico SA de C V. Discovered in 2020, Polok lies in block R02-L04-A29, with water depth of around 1,912 feet.

The project is currently in approval stage and is expected to start commercial production in 2025.

Field participation details

The field is owned by Petroliam Nasional, BASF, PTT Public, LetterOne Holdings and Repsol.


Production from Polok

Production from the Polok conventional oil development project is expected to begin in 2025 and is forecast to peak in 2028, to approximately 17,546 bpd of crude oil and condensate and 9 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, the production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2070.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 109.61 Mmboe, comprised of 100.96 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 51.9 bcf of natural gas reserves.
