Primrose-Wolf Lake (CNRL) is a producing oil sands field located onshore Canada and is operated by Canadian Natural Resources.

Four expansion projects are associated with the Primrose-Wolf Lake (CNRL) oil sands field, namely Primrose North Development, Primrose South Development, Primrose East Development and Primrose Wolf Lake Development. The expansion projects are currently in the approval stage, targeting start-up during 2023.

Production from Primrose-Wolf Lake (CNRL)

The Primrose-Wolf Lake (CNRL) oil sands field recovered 32.07% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2015. The peak production was approximately 99.42 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2085. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the country’s daily output.

The field is expected to recover 1,092.82 Mmboe, comprised of 1,092.82 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. Primrose-Wolf Lake (CNRL) oil sands field reserves accounts 2.87% of total remaining reserves of producing oil sands fields globally.
