RasGas 1 Conventional Gas Field, Qatar

RasGas 1 is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water in Qatar and is operated by Qatargas Operating. The field is located in block Rasgas Block A, with water depth of 230 feet.

The field is owned by QatarEnergy, Sumitomo, Sojitz, Korea Gas, Itochu, Exxon Mobil, SK Innovation, Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, Others, Hanwha, LG, Daesung Group Partners and Samsung C&T.

Production from RasGas 1

The RasGas 1 conventional gas field recovered 51.96% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2020. The peak production was approximately 53.63 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 978 Mmcfd of liquid natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2061. The field currently accounts for approximately 5% of the country’s daily output.

Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 1,391.08 Mmboe, comprised of 248.63 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 6,854.66 bcf of liquid natural gas reserves. RasGas 1 conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.45% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
