Ratawi is a producing heavy oil field located onshore Iraq and is operated by TotalEnergies .

An expansion project is associated with the Ratawi, namely Ratawi Development. This project is currently in the approval stage, expected to start in 2026.

Production from Ratawi

The Ratawi heavy oil field recovered 39.83% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2017. The peak production was approximately 17.56 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2059.

Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 60.25 Mmboe, comprised of 60.25 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. Ratawi heavy oil field reserves accounts 0.14% of total remaining reserves of producing heavy oil fields globally.
