An expansion project is associated with the Samotlorskoye, namely Samotlorskoye Expansion. This project is currently in the approval stage.

Production from Samotlorskoye
The Samotlorskoye conventional oil field recovered 88.02% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 1980. The peak production was approximately 3,256.42 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2054. The field currently accounts for approximately 2% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 2,925.91 Mmboe, comprised of 2,418.59 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 3,043.91 bcf of natural gas reserves. Samotlorskoye conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.63% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
