Sarqala is a producing conventional oil field located onshore Iraq and is operated by Gazprom Neft Middle East. The field is located in block Garmian.

An expansion project is associated with the Sarqala, namely Sarqala Development Project Phase 2. This project is currently in the feasibility stage.

The field is owned by Kurdistan Regional Government, Crest Energy International and Gazprom.


Production from Sarqala

The Sarqala conventional oil field recovered 12.56% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2022. The peak production was approximately 33.97 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2084. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 307.77 Mmboe, comprised of 307.77 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. Sarqala conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.07% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
