Sarsang is a producing conventional oil field located onshore Iraq and is operated by HKN Energy. The field is located in block Sarsang.
Two expansion projects are associated with the Sarsang conventional oil field, namely Swara Tika Development and East Swara Tika Development. The expansion projects are currently in the construction and feasibility stage, targeting start-up during 2022 – 2026.

The field is owned by Hillwood International Energy, Kurdistan Regional Government and ShaMaran Petroleum.
Production from Sarsang
The Sarsang conventional oil field recovered 18.61% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2022. The peak production was approximately 35.24 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2076. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 182.96 Mmboe, comprised of 182.96 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. Sarsang conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.04% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
