Satun is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water in Thailand and is operated by Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production. The field is located in block B12, with water depth of 230 feet.

Production from Satun

The Satun conventional gas field recovered 83.82% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 1997. The peak production was approximately 16.2 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 219 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2039. The field currently accounts for approximately 4% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 80.32 Mmboe, comprised of 6.38 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 443.67 bcf of natural gas reserves. Satun conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.03% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
