Shah Gas Development Conventional Gas Field, UAE

Shah Gas Development is a producing conventional gas field located onshore the UAE and is operated by ADNOC Sour Gas. The field is located in block ADNOC Onshore.

An expansion project is associated with the Shah Gas Development, namely Shah Gas Expansion. This project is currently in the construction stage.

The field is owned by Abu Dhabi National Oil and Occidental Petroleum.


Production from Shah Gas Development

The Shah Gas Development conventional gas field recovered 15.08% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2023. The peak production will approximately 48.75 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate, 825 Mmcfd of natural gas and 86.25 thousand bpd of natural gas liquids. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2064. The field currently accounts for approximately 5% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 2,159.32 Mmboe, comprised of 375.52 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate, 6,715.82 bcf of natural gas reserves and 664.49 Mmbbl of natural gas liquid reserves. Shah Gas Development conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.70% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
