Production from Shurtan
The Shurtan conventional gas field recovered 87.18% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 1997. The peak production was approximately 18.87 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 2,007 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2045. The field currently accounts for approximately 13% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 478.29 Mmboe, comprised of 16.11 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 2,773.04 bcf of natural gas reserves. Shurtan conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.16% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
