SK10 is a producing conventional gas field located in shallow water in Malaysia and is operated by JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration (Malaysia). The field is located in block SK 10, with water depth of 180 feet.
An expansion project is associated with the SK10, namely Helang & Layang EOR. This project is currently in the feasibility stage.
Production from SK10
The SK10 conventional gas field recovered 58.60% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2020. The peak production was approximately 9.57 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 407 Mmcfd of liquid natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2049. The field currently accounts for approximately 5% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 251.17 Mmboe, comprised of 30 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 1,327.04 bcf of liquid natural gas reserves. SK10 conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.09% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
