South Dakota witnessed an increase of 3.48% in total oil and gas production to 4,943.07 boe/d in June 2020 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production declined 10.14% in June 2020 from 5,500.9 boe/d in June 2019. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2020 decreased by 11.7% from the same period in 2019.
In June 2020, oil production grew 8.51% to 2,713.34 bd as against the previous month, while gas production declined by 2.05% to 12.93 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production decreased by 12.95% in 2020 when compared with the same period in 2019, while gas production declined by 10.22%. Out of the total oil and gas production in June 2020, oil held a 54.89% share, while gas had a 45.1% share.
In South Dakota, Continental Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 3,374.22 boe/d in June 2020, an increase of 3.64% from the previous month. The company held a 49.09% share in oil production and 91.57% share in gas production in June 2020.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 13.2% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2019.
Compared with other counties in South Dakota, Harding county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 99.28% share in June 2020. The county witnessed a 3.62% increase in production to 4,907.5 boe/d in June 2020 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, Harding registered a decline of 12.12% in total production from the same period in 2019.
