Stag is a producing heavy oil field located in shallow water in Australia and is operated by Jadestone Energy (Australia). The field is located in block WA-209-P and WA-15-L, with water depth of 157 feet.

An expansion project is associated with the Stag, namely Stag 50H Infill Project. This project is currently in the construction stage, expected to start in 2022.

Production from Stag

The Stag heavy oil field recovered 89.70% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2000. The peak production was approximately 23.58 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 5 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2048.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 8.26 Mmboe, comprised of 8.26 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate. Stag heavy oil field reserves accounts 0.02% of total remaining reserves of producing heavy oil fields globally.
