Su Tu (Lion) is a producing conventional oil field located in shallow water in Vietnam and is operated by Cuu Long Joint Operating. The field is located in block Block 15-1, with water depth of 184 feet.

The field is owned by Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, SK Innovation, Geopetrol, Perenco Holdings and Korea National Oil.


Production from Su Tu (Lion)

The Su Tu (Lion) conventional oil field recovered 63.20% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production in 2009. The peak production was approximately 94.42 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 4 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2047. The field currently accounts for approximately 18% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 234.99 Mmboe, comprised of 215.38 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 117.68 bcf of natural gas reserves. Su Tu (Lion) conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.05% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
