Texas witnessed an increase of 6.32% in total oil and gas production to 94,25,136.11 boe/d in June 2020 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production declined 5.55% in June 2020 from 99,78,999.69 boe/d in June 2019. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2020 increased by 4.39% from the same period in 2019.

In June 2020, oil production grew 9.84% to 38,79,204.41 bd as against the previous month, while gas production up by 4.11% to 27,919.27 mmcf/d.

On a YTD basis, oil production increased by 1.92% in 2020 when compared with the same period in 2019, while gas production rose by 5.99%. Out of the total oil and gas production in June 2020, oil held a 41.16% share, while gas had a 51.07% share.


In Texas, Pioneer Natural Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 6,88,283.89 boe/d in June 2020, an increase of 6.55% from the previous month. The company held a 12.16% share in oil production and 4.5% share in gas production in June 2020.

On a YTD basis, the company registered a 20.3% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2019.



Compared with other counties in Texas, Reeves county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 10.84% share in June 2020. The county witnessed a 6.7% increase in production to 10,21,266.56 boe/d in June 2020 when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, Reeves registered an increase of 10.48% in total production from the same period in 2019.
