Texas witnessed a decrease of 2.57% in total oil and gas production to 1,07,70,153.78 boe/d in March 2020 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.
The oil and gas production grew 11.67% in March 2020 from 96,44,342.22 boe/d in March 2019. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in 2020 increased by 13.21% from the same period in 2019.
In March 2020, oil production declined 2.45% to 46,38,445.07 bd as against the previous month, while gas production declined by 2.61% to 30,579.78 mmcf/d.
On a YTD basis, oil production increased by 12.86% in 2020 when compared with the same period in 2019, while gas production rose by 12.85%. Out of the total oil and gas production in March 2020, oil held a 43.07% share, while gas had a 48.95% share.
In Texas, Pioneer Natural Resources emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 6,42,030.01 boe/d in March 2020, a decrease of 1.96% from the previous month. The company held a 9.6% share in oil production and 3.73% share in gas production in March 2020.
On a YTD basis, the company registered a 25.95% increase in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2019.
Compared with other counties in Texas, Reeves county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding a 10.67% share in March 2020. The county witnessed a 7.21% decrease in production to 11,49,314.97 boe/d in March 2020 when compared with the previous month.
On a YTD basis, Reeves registered an increase of 23.37% in total production from the same period in 2019.
