Tipton West is a producing cbm field located onshore Australia and is operated by Arrow (Tipton). The field is located in block PL 198.

An expansion project is associated with the Tipton West, namely Surat Gas Project – Tipton West Phase 1. This project is currently in the construction stage, expected to start in 2022.

The field is owned by China National Petroleum and Shell.


Production from Tipton West

The Tipton West cbm field recovered 9.52% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2029. The peak production will approximately 670 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2042. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 365.24 Mmboe, comprised of 2,191.41 bcf of natural gas reserves. Tipton West cbm field reserves accounts 8.60% of total remaining reserves of producing cbm fields globally.
