Touat is a producing conventional gas field located onshore Algeria and is operated by Groupement TouatGaz. The field is located in block Touat (Block 352a, 353).
An expansion project is associated with the Touat, namely Touat Phase 2. This project is currently in the feasibility stage, expected to start in 2026.
Field participation details
The field is owned by Engie, Neptune Energy Group and Sonatrach.
Production from Touat
The Touat conventional gas field recovered 9.17% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2023. The peak production will approximately 1.59 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 432 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2038. The field currently accounts for approximately 1% of the country’s daily output.
Remaining recoverable reserves
The field is expected to recover 351.52 Mmboe, comprised of 7.38 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 2,064.83 bcf of natural gas reserves. Touat conventional gas field reserves accounts 0.12% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional gas fields globally.
