Umm Shaif is a producing conventional oil field located in shallow water in the UAE and is operated by Abu Dhabi National Oil. The field is located in block Umm Shaif and Nasr, with water depth of 43 feet.

Four expansion projects are associated with the Umm Shaif conventional oil field, namely Umm Shaif Gas Phase 2, Umm Shaif LTDP-1, Umm Shaif LTDP-2 and Umm Shaif Giant Gas Cap Development. The expansion projects are currently in the feasibility, construction and feed stage.

The field is owned by Abu Dhabi National Oil, China National Petroleum, China National Offshore Oil, Eni and TotalEnergies.


Production from Umm Shaif

The Umm Shaif conventional oil field recovered 75.84% of its total recoverable reserves, with peak production expected in 2027. The peak production will approximately 352.8 thousand bpd of crude oil and condensate and 38 Mmcfd of natural gas. Based on economic assumptions, production will continue until the field reaches its economic limit in 2042. The field currently accounts for approximately 5% of the country’s daily output.


Remaining recoverable reserves

The field is expected to recover 1,372.82 Mmboe, comprised of 993.53 Mmbbl of crude oil & condensate and 2,275.73 bcf of natural gas reserves. Umm Shaif conventional oil field reserves accounts 0.30% of total remaining reserves of producing conventional oil fields globally.
