Woodford Shale witnessed an increase of 9.74% in total oil and gas production to 3,20,374.59 boe/d in June 2020 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s USL48 database.

The oil and gas production in Woodford declined 12.12% in June 2020 from 3,64,551 boe/d in June 2019. On a YTD basis, the total oil and gas production in the play decreased by 13.81% from the same period in 2019.

In Woodford, oil production grew 38.19% in June 2020 as compared with the previous month, while gas production increased by 0.11% to 1,266.57 mmcf/d.

On a YTD basis, oil production in the play decreased by 14.45% in 2020 when compared with the same period in 2019, while gas production declined by 13.51%. Out of the total oil and gas production in June 2020, oil held a 31.84% share, while gas had a 68.16% share.


In Woodford, Trinity Operating (USG) emerged as the largest oil and gas producer, recording a total oil and gas production at 49,219.84 boe/d in June 2020, an increase of 6.41% from the previous month. The company held a 0.07% share in oil production and 22.51% share in gas production in June 2020.

On a YTD basis, the company registered a 10.45% decrease in total oil and gas production from the same period in 2019.



Compared with other counties within Woodford Shale, Pittsburg county recorded the highest oil and gas production, holding an 18.62% share in June 2020. The county witnessed a 0.87% decrease in production to 59,640.59 boe/d in June 2020 when compared with the previous month.

On a YTD basis, it registered a decline of 7.51% in total production from the same period in 2019.
