Subsea umbilicals and power cables supplier to offshore industry, JDR Cable Systems has released  intervention, workover and control systems (IWOCS) rental service.

IWOCS rentals allow offshore oil and gas operators to boost production from subsea wells without capital investment, by offering a temporary connection.

The systems can also be used for applications such as intervention, completions and plug and abandonment.

JDR, which supplies cables owned by TFKable Group, offers several configurations for offshore rigs or vessels through its global service centres.

These configurations can be customised as per the requirements of a specific project, including as single-wire deployment and self-supporting IWOCS.

“This new IWOCS rental service is an important part of our growth strategy.”

Due to this flexible approach, operators can opt how and when to bring production online, thereby drastically reducing time, cost and supply chain risk.

JDR Americas’ director David Nemetz said: “In today’s price-pressured operating environment, oil and gas operators are focused on extracting more out of existing assets in the most cost-effective way.

“As sector specialists, we have delivered more than 200 of these IWOCS internationally so it made sense to take that technical expertise and offer it on a rental basis, giving operators additional flexibility and choice.”

JDR will also provide various types of supporting hardware and equipment, including hydraulic test units, umbilical reels and chemical injection units.

Nemetz further said: “This new IWOCS rental service is an important part of our growth strategy. It opens up a wider oil and gas market for JDR and positions us as a leading global services provider for the subsea sector.”

JDR specialises in designing, manufacturing, delivering, installing and supporting subsea power cables and umbilical systems.
