“We recognise the imperative of applying advanced technology to optimise our critical operations.”

“The oil and gas industry is facing a rapidly changing digital landscape that requires cutting-edge technologies to cultivate growth and success.”

SparkPredict leverages machine learning algorithms to analyse sensor data and identify suboptimal operations and impending failures before they occur. This will enable Aker BP to predict failures and cut down on unplanned maintenance.

The deployment of SparkCognition’s solution will also allow Aker BP to maximise production and efficiency of its offshore production platforms.

SparkCognition Solutions vice-president Philippe Herve said: “Our collaboration with Aker BP confirms SparkCognition’s capability to address difficult challenges in the world’s most significant industries and illustrates our dedication to enhancing operations with artificial intelligence.”

Aker BP has exploration and production operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). The company, which is owned by Aker and BP and other shareholders, operates the Valhall, Ula, Ivar Aasen, Alvheim and Skarv field hubs.
