Aker Solutions has received a Nkr1.7bn ($206.31m) contract to provide a subsea production system and umbilicals for China National Offshore Oil’s (CNOOC) Lingshui 17-2 gas field, which is located in the South China Sea, off the Hainan Province.

Lingshui 17-2 is a subsea deepwater project with water depths of up to 1,500m.

The field’s subsea production system comprises 11 horizontal subsea trees, four manifolds, a topside and subsea control system, and a vertical tie-in connection system.

Aker is also required to provide more than 70km of static and dynamic umbilicals, linking the subsea development to a new semisubmersible platform.

“Our complete offering of a subsea production system and umbilicals will enable CNOOC to reduce costs and maximise the production of the field.”

Aker Solutions CEO Luis Araujo said: “We are pleased to extend our partnership with CNOOC in China to the Lingshui gas field and leverage our global deepwater capabilities. Our complete offering of a subsea production system and umbilicals will enable CNOOC to reduce costs and maximise the production of the field.”

The company will deliver the contract services from its facilities in Malaysia, Norway and the UK. The subsea production system and umbilicals are expected to be delivered between the second half of 2019 and 2020.

China Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) will manufacture and test the subsea manifold for the field.

The latest deal comes after Aker was awarded a contract earlier this month from Petrobras to provide a subsea production system and related services for the Mero 1 project within the Mero field development in offshore Brazil.

In August, Aker received an order from CNOOC to provide power umbilical system for the Liuhua oilfields in China.
