Offshore-services supplier Vroon Offshore Services (VOS) has secured a three-year vessel contract extension from oil and gas major BP.
The UK-based company values the extension at approximately $38.3m (£30m).

Under the contract, VOS will continue to provide four emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRVs) to support the oil and gas firm’s North Sea and West of Shetland assets until 2023.
The company’s Aberdeen managing director Craig Harvie said: “With BP’s commendable and ambitious targets to become net-zero by 2050, we are pleased to be able to support them with our extremely fuel-efficient vessels, many of which have diesel-electric power generation that significantly reduces their carbon footprint.
“Sustainability and carbon reduction are key considerations for our customers’ future needs and we are proud to be able to meet these.”
Vroon Offshore Services operates 38 ERRVs out of Aberdeen, UK, with four contracted to BP. A majority of its fleet has cargo-carrying capabilities, while some vessels are equipped with towage and tanker-assist features.
