Danish offshore drilling rig operator Maersk Drilling has secured a 20-month extension for the Maersk Convincer jack-up rig with Brunei Shell Petroleum Company (BSP).
The contract extension option exercised by BSP for the Maersk Convincer allows the rig to continue operating offshore Brunei until 2022.

According to the Danish rig operator, the extension has an expected duration of 602 days.
Currently, the rig is in operation at the Seria field offshore Brunei Darussalam.
It is expected to start in May next year in direct continuation of the jack-up rig’s current work scope.

Delivered in 2008, Maersk Convincer is a Baker Pacific Class 375 cantilever rig that is designed for year-round operation.
Recently, Maersk Drilling secured another one-well contract from Aker BP for the ‘Maersk Integrator’ ultra-harsh environment CJ70 XLE jack-up rig.
The company reported half yearly revenue of $584m this year, compared to $623m registered in 2019 H1.
