Eni, through its subsidiary Eni Indonesia, has partnered with Indonesian upstream regulator SKK Migas to collaborate on exploration activities in Indonesia.
Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU), the parties will process and interpret Indonesia’s seismic data by using Eni’s seismic imaging algorithms.

The partnership work will also leverage the computing and processing capabilities of Eni’s Green Data Center located in Ferrera Erbognone, Italy. The centre houses Eni-operated HPC4 and HPC5 supercomputers.
Eni is considered as one of Indonesia’s main partners in the upstream sector where it already commissioned the Merakes project earlier this year.
Recently, the Italian firm reported positive results of the Maha-2 appraisal well located in the West Ganal block off the coast of Indonesia.
In a press statement, Eni said: “The successful exploration campaign conducted by Eni in the deep water of East Kalimantan has already delivered the producing projects of Jangkrik and most recently Merakes.”
