Norway-based energy company Equinor has selected global IT services provider Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as its strategic partner to accelerate its transformation into a digital energy company.

Under this strategic collaboration, TCS would help achieve data democratisation across Equinor’s core operations and enable the latter to realise its vision of becoming a digital energy company.

Harnessing its power of machine learning (ML) and advanced analytics, the IT services provider will enable Equinor to achieve its digital transformation objectives.

Using its DATOM framework, TCS will assess data maturity levels and develop a roadmap to simplify operating models, as well as establish data governance models.

The IT major will also build technology patterns and architectures to help the Norwegian firm leverage data and analytics to attain ‘superior business outcomes’.

TCS will also help Equinor improve its safety and sustainability outcomes.

Furthermore, TCS’ location-independent agile model would be used to set up ‘unique ways of working’, helping Equinor to align outcomes closely with business objectives.
