Mammoet has partnered with Dubai-based Astro Offshore to expand its capacity to provide onshore and offshore transport solutions for oil and gas construction projects in the Middle East.

Marine equipment owner Astro Offshore owns and operates a fleet of offshore support vessels, which include a variety of tugs and barges.

Mammoet Middle East and Africa managing director Martijn Kuipers said: “As barging is a critical aspect in the transport chain for all future oil and gas projects in this region, our new partnership will bolster our available barge and tug fleet in the region, and accordingly further strengthens our services in onshore and offshore transport.

Astro Offshore executed various transportation projects within the Middle East and Subcontinent.

The projects include D1 Development Project for Essar Projects, Phase-1 of Nasr & Umm Lulu Field Development Projects for Larsen and Toubro and 19 Platform Jackets for Saipem.
