WesternGeco has won two contracts from Engie E&P Norge to acquire and process towed 4D seismic data in production licence 153.

Gjøa licence is located in the northern part of the Norwegian North Sea.

The survey work will be carried out by WesternGeco Magellan vessel and is expected to be completed in August this year.

A similar 3D survey was conducted on Engie E&P operated Gjøa field ten years ago.

Situated in one of Engie E&P's core areas, the Gjøa field is the fifth largest producing field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, according to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.

Engie E&P Norge Gjøa field asset manager Hilde Ådland said: "The main objective for the repeat survey this summer is to observe production effects on the Gjøa field and contribute to an optimised field management strategy.
