Malaysian integrated oil and gas services company Sapura Energy Berhad has won five new contracts worth approximately MYR1.3bn ($316m) for its engineering and construction as well as drilling segments.

The contracts mark the company’s entry into Egypt for works in the Gulf of Suez, along with other wins across Malaysia and Indonesia, as well as a Submarine Rescue Service project for The Royal Australian Navy.

The company’s subsidiary Sapura Offshore has secured a subcontract from Pan Marine Petroleum Services for six new subsea pipelines in the Gulf of Suez for the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO). Works will be taken up in the Morgan field, with an expected pipelay of approximately 57km.

Sapura Drilling Asia has secured two new contracts in Malaysia for mobilising two drilling rigs in Malaysia.

The first contract is from ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia for its tender assist drilling rig, Sapura T-9. Scope of work includes the provision of barge tender assisted drilling rig services for three years at the Tabu field, offshore Peninsular Malaysia.

Sapura Drilling has also won a contract extension from Petronas Carigali for a semi tender assisted drilling rig, Sapura Berani. The contract involves the drilling of nine wells at the Sumandak, Erb West and Dulang facilities, offshore Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia.

Sapura Offshore, in a joint venture with PT Timas Suplindo, has also won a deep water engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract from ENI East Sepinggan in Indonesia.

The contract involves works on two 16-inch diameter offshore rigid pipelines from the Jangkrik facility to a future manifold near Merakes drilling centres. Works will be carried out at water depths of 70m to 1,400m for a length of approximately 95km.

Under the terms of the contract, the company will design, fabricate and install offshore foreseen structures, deep water pipeline end terminations (PLETs) as well as in-line tee (ILT) systems for the East Sepinggan Block, East Kalimantan, Indonesia.
