Norwegian offshore service company Solstad Offshore has secured a contract from subsea contractor Ocean Installer for the Normand Vision high-capacity construction support vessel (CSV).

Solstad said that the contract starts in the first quarter of next year and noted that the optional periods cover the majority of next year.

Built by Norway-based Vard in 2014, the Normand Vision multi-purpose offshore vessel is capable of carrying out the installation of subsea structures, umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF).

The vessel has worked on a ‘long-term charter’ for the subsea contractor most of the time since its delivery.

Normand Vision is a large subsea vessel with a length of 157m.

It is equipped with a 3,000t underdeck carousel, a 150t vertical lay spread system (VLS), and a 400t AHC crane and launch system for remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).
