Norwegian offshore service provider Subsea 7 has secured three engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contracts from Saudi Arabian national petroleum and natural gas company Saudi Aramco.

The contracts were awarded under the long term agreement between the two companies for execution offshore Saudi Arabia. Subsea 7 will execute the contracts in consortium with Larsen & Toubro’s subsidiary L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE).

Under the contracts, Subsea 7 and LTHE will carry out EPCI works for a total of 28 jackets consisting of eight new jackets to be installed in the Marjan and Zuluf fields, ten jackets in the Safaniya and Zuluf fields and a further ten Jackets in the Zuluf and Ribyan fields. The work in the Safaniya and Zuluf fields includes a pipeline decommissioning scope.

The companies will start work immediately and offshore execution is expected to be undertaken in 2020.

Subsea 7 vice president for Middle East Adzariat Monergi said: “These three new awards reflect the good execution and reliable performance that Subsea 7 and LTHE bring to the offshore sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We look forward to continuing our long-term relationship with Saudi Aramco, delivering these projects safely and efficiently.”

Subsea 7 said the contracts together represent a sizeable award for the company and range between $50m and $150m. The value range refers to Subsea 7’s share of the consortium contract.

In April 2019, Saudi Aramco awarded Subsea 7 two contracts for conventional projects in shallow water offshore Saudi Arabia. The two workscopes feature EPCI works of three oil production deck manifolds and subsea pipelines in the Zuluf field and subsea pipelines in the Berri field. Offshore execution is due to start in 2020.
