The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted a drilling permit for well 16 / 3-4 in the North Sea, to Lundin Norway.

The well will be drilled from the drilling facility Bredford Dolphin after the drilling of wildcat well 16 / 1-15 for Lundin in production licence 501.

The well, the seventh to be spudded in the licence, will be located 6km south-east of oil discovery well 16 / 2-6 in Avaldsnes, in the central North Sea.

Lundin operates with a 50% ownership interest in the licence. Its partners are Wintershall Norge with a 30% share and RWE Dea Norge with 20%.
