Chevron Extends Halliburton Contract for Thailand Projects

Chevron Thailand has extended a contract with Halliburton for the provision of directional drilling, measurement-while-drilling and logging-while-drilling services for offshore Thailand projects. The three-year, $122m contract extension for offshore developments in the Gulf of Thailand

Chevron Thailand has extended a contract with Halliburton for the provision of directional drilling, measurement-while-drilling and logging-while-drilling services for offshore Thailand projects.

The three-year, $122m contract extension for offshore developments in the Gulf of Thailand covers services for high-temperature wells that exceed 150°C (302°F) and some exceeding 200°C (392°F).

Halliburton Sperry Drilling vice-president James Bement said that the award was based on the collaboration between Chevron and Sperry in addressing Thailand’s challenging drilling conditions.

Chevron operates 14 blocks with ownership interests ranging from 35% to 80% in Thailand.
