Technip is to develop the Clipper South gas field development in the North Sea under a full EPIC contract with RWE Dea.

The field is located 70km off the Bacton gas terminal in water depths of 25m.

Under the contract, Technip will provide full project management, detailed pipeline design, installation and tie-in of a 15.5km, 12in production line and a 3in methanol piggyback line from the new Clipper South platform to the existing Lincolnshire Offshore Gas Gathering system (LOGGS) platform.

Technip’s operating centre in Aberdeen, Scotland, will execute this contract, which is due to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Genesis, a Technip Group company, will provide a detailed pipeline design and will use vessels from the Technip fleet for the offshore installation campaign.
