Eni has completed the appraisal and testing of the Sankofa discovery in the Offshore Cape Three Points licence, offshore Ghana.
Eni drilled the Sankofa-2 well to a depth of 864m, 55km off the coast.
The well showed a rate of 29.5mmscfd of high quality gas and 1,000boe per day of 52° API condensate, confirming the presence of 35m of net gas and condensate sands of the Cretaceous age.
Eni came across a 6m oil leg and initial evaluations showed that the appraisal well has increased the preliminary estimate of gas at the Sankofa discovery.
Eni Ghana Exploration and Production is operator of the OCTP licence with a 47.22% interest, Vitol Upstream Ghana holds a 37.78% stake and state company Ghana National Petroleum Corporation GNPC holds a 15% interest.
