Statoil has awarded Subsea 7 a contract for the development of the Fossekall / Dompap discoveries off the coast of Helgeland in northern Norway.

Under the Nkr970m ($176.38m) contract, Subsea 7 will be responsible for marine installations and pipe-laying. The project will start production by the end of 2012.

The development of the Fossekall / Dompap discoveries comprises three subsea templates tied back to the Norne ship in the Norwegian Sea. The distance from the field to the Norne ship is 26km.

The estimated recoverable reserves in Fossekall / Dompap are 100 million barrels of oil equivalent.
