Keppel FELS has secured a $772m supply contract from Standard Drilling for four repeat KFELS B Class rigs.

Delivery of the rigs is expected to take place between the second half of 2013 and the first half of 2014.

The KFELS B Class rig encompasses Keppel’s advanced and fully automated high capacity rack and pinion elevating system and a self-positioning fixation system.

On completion, Standard Drilling’s rigs will be able to operate in water depths of 400ft and a drilling depth of 30,000ft, and will accommodate up to 120 people.

The KFELS B Class jack-up is designed to provide maximum uptime with reduced emissions and discharges.
