Kebabangan Petroleum Operating Company (KPOC) is to develop the Kebabangan (KBB) gas field, which is located offshore Sabah, Malaysia.

KPOC’s parent company Petronas Carigali owns a 40% interest in the field, while ConocoPhilips Sabah Gas and Shell Energy Asia each hold a 30% interest.

The KBB gas field is located in water depths of 100m to 400m and is a part of the KBB cluster production sharing contract that KPOC operates.

The development plans include a 12-well, two-phase drilling campaign and an integrated drilling and production platform.

Production from the KBB field is expected to start at the end of 2014.

Approximately 135km of pipelines will channel oil and gas to the Petronas Carigali-operated Sabah Oil and Gas terminal being developed at Kimanis, Sabah.
