Italy’s Eni has won a 100% participation interest and operatorship of the Arguni I block in the second Indonesian international bidding round.

The block is located in West Papua Province, Eastern Indonesia, covering an area of 5,386km in the Bintuni Basin.

Work under the contract includes the drilling of two wells and conducting a 2D seismic survey of 500km and a 3D seismic survey of 200 square kilometres during the first three years of exploration.

Eni has operated in Indonesia since 2001 and holds working interests in 12 permits.
