Singapore’s Keppel FELS has received a $180m contract to construct a KFELS B Class jack-up drilling rig for Vision Drilling, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynamic Offshore Drilling of India.

The rig is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2013.

The jack-up rig will be able to operate in water depths of 350ft with a drilling depth of 30,000ft, and accommodate 120 men.

The company has an option to build an additional rig that must be exercised before the third quarter of 2011.

The rig will be built to work in high pressure / high temperature environments and have offline stand building capabilities.
