Chevron has selected Norwegian firm Aker Solutions to supply three subsea production control umbilicals for its Jack and St Malo field developments in the Gulf of Mexico.

Aker will supply three electro-hydraulic steel tube production umbilicals measuring 65km, which will be manufactured in Alabama, US.

The umbilicals will provide hydraulic, electrical and fibre-optic services to the subsea fields located in the Walker Ridge Area, in water depths of approximately 7,000ft.

Aker Solutions president-subsea North America Erik Wiik said this order is a repeat order from Chevron.

“Aker Solutions is proud to contribute to this very important project for Chevron and for the Gulf of Mexico region,” Wiik added.
