Seadrill Wins PTTEP Jack-Up Rig Contract

Seadrill has secured a $35m contract from PTTEP in Thailand to supply its West Leda jack-up rig for a firm period of nine months. Work is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2011 in a direct continuation of the rig's existing contract. Seadrill CEO Alf Thorkildse said

Seadrill has secured a $35m contract from PTTEP in Thailand to supply its West Leda jack-up rig for a firm period of nine months.

Work is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2011 in a direct continuation of the rig’s existing contract.

Seadrill CEO Alf Thorkildse said the company was pleased to secure a new contract for one of its jack-ups in the South East Asia region.

“We consider this as an excellent opportunity to further strengthen our relationship with PTTEP, one of our key customers,” he said.
