Tunisia’s Minister of Industry and Technology has granted a permit to New Zealand Oil & Gas (NZOG) in the Mediterranean’s Gulf of Gabes, off the coast of Tunisia.

The company said it received an exclusive two-year right over the prospecting permit, which requires no well commitment, with priority rights to apply for a four-year exploration permit.

The Diodore permit extends over an area of 1,236 sq km at less than 100m deep in southern Gulf of Gabes.
