ONGC Spuds Kerala Well

Indian Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has begun drilling on its first deep-water well in India’s Kerala-Konkan basin.

Drilling will reach a planned depth of 6,500m and is reported to cost a total of Rs4bn ($83m).

Two exploration wells are being drilled in the Cochin offshore area. Drilling is taking place in a water depth of at least 2,000m. Results are expected in 100 days.
