StatoilHydro Petroleum said that the drilling of wildcat well 30/9-23, located between the Oseberg and Brage fields in the North Sea, has found that the well is dry.

The well will now be permanently plugged and abandoned, according to youroilandgasnews.com.

Reservoir rocks of medium thickness were encountered in both the Viking and Brent groups in Upper to Middle Jurassic reservoir rocks, the news service said.

The well was drilled by the Transocean Winner drilling facility to a vertical depth of 2,846m.
