Aker Solutions has signed a NKr2.3bn ($394m) contract with Eni Norge to deliver subsea production equipment to the Goliat oil and gas development in the Barents Sea.

The project work involves engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a total subsea production system.

Aker will use key components of its Norway manufacturing network to deliver the subsea system to Goliat, the company said.

Aker Solutions' subsea business area executive vice-president Mads Andersen said that the contract is a key subsea project for the company.

"It will give us a higher degree of predictability for our manufacturing and support facilities in Norway, and also involve a significant contribution to boosting the offshore support related activity locally in the Hammerfest region," he said.

Subsea system deliveries will commence in 2011 and continue through to 2013.
